Steve, 8/10/2024 - Please pray that my mom will agree to go to confession. She has been avoiding it for years, and I don't understand why. She has a deep understanding of the Catholic faith and is always able to offer the best explanations and advice, except when it comes to herself. She's caught up in this "I'm now worthy" shame as the reason not to go. That just seems so silly, like saying "I'm so sick I shouldn't take this medicine." And I think it's a form of despair, not believing in the grace of God, putting something personal (the need to feel unworthy?) above her relationship with God. Please pray for her, that she will see that that's the WHOLE POINT of the sacrament of reconciliation, that humans, on our own, are not worthy. Please pray that she will see that God is waiting and wanting for her to come to Him, so that whatever her fears or hesitations are, they will melt away. She is 78, has suffered for many years with this, and needs the healing that comes from reconciliation with God. Thank you!

Mounir, 8/9/2024 - My mom is mentally ill and needs help. She is really, sick right now… for a few examples: she decided to water the plants outside when it was just about to rain outside, another is she is obsessed with money… I understand money is important, but she is really after money, more than usual… in her mind she thinks some people have more money have more money than she does, sometimes she is right, but at times she is wrong… in her mind she thinks that everyone is better off than her, but that is far from the truth… there was a lady, named Dani, my family knew that had it worse, long story short she started a restaurant but was forced to close it down because of the situation related to COVID-19… is struggling now… Dani does work, when she is able, but she needs help, in more ways than just one… she is going to get married, but I don’t know about the man she is planning to get married to. Back to my mom, speaking of money, she wants money from people from things they have done, even if it is something that can be easily fixed. I did something related to some wet towels, I was planning to use for something later… she also found some rags and towels, that she said were wet, but I can tell they were dry before she put them in a pile, of the wet towels I wouldn’t be surprised I she just threw them out, instead of either drying them out o putting them in the wash, and expects me to pay for them. I will pay for them, but still. Another thing, today, I got some things done, but she insisted on helping me with setting up a video, through Zoom, and the preparation before it, like to watch videos, instead of doing something I needed to get done, related to a job she already has… I made lessons for kids on Skype. I hope she doesn’t get that new job… she is really needy when it comes to technology even when she isn’t so sick… she doesn’t get it… she couldn’t apply for jobs that she needs help with the technology for. With another job she had, and I don’t know if she’ll get it in the future or not, I got forced to stay and help with them, try not to be seen by the students… with things on the computer… helping her three times a week is bad enough, and those ones she can do the computer things herself, but needs me for some reason, usually… I am out of town, now, my parents went to another town for my mom’s dental appointment, as I have too much to do… with mom’s jobs… I had to stay behind, I wouldn’t be surprised if I never go to that other town again, I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed my last chance… then my mom has the nerve to say that I really didn’t do anything… I did a lot of her work today. I am not happy about that… With the towel situation, back in the city, where I usually live, I got scared and cried, and as childish as this is, I sucked on my thumb, scared because I worry about what my mom will do next to me… will she kick me out to the streets or what? She is also more controlling than usual… it is almost impossible to get what I am supposed to get done on time because of her… I almost didn’t get something done today… because of her… I worry that one of these times, it will be impossible and I either have to pay up, as in give her a lot of money or worse… I don’t want to think about it. They are many things wrong, those things are just a few of them. Thanks.
